Process Simulation of an Adsorption Chiller: True Moving Bed Approximation
Adsorption heat pumps directly use thermal energy for cooling or heating. To minimize heat loss, multi-bed processes interchange the needed heat for desorption between beds, thereby re-using it. Since designing such processes is complex, it is beneficial to consider the theoretical limiting case of a stationary counter current process. This true moving bed approximation allows the use of parameter continuation methods as well as the implementation of design specifications.
