Studies on the rheological properties of epoxy compositions with modified vegetable oils
Com. Bisphenol A-based low mol. mass epoxy resin was mixed with an epoxidized soybean oil to produce 2 compns. (viscosity 1500 and 700 mPa.s) studied for flow behaviour at 25-65 degrees C and shear rate 2-200/s. After correction of the shear rate data by Krieger-Maron and Schilmmer-Worthoff methods, the sheare rate relationship of the shear stress were detd. to calc. the flow index and consistence coeffs. by using Oswald-de Waele, Bingham and Casson models. The both compns. were non-Newtonian viscoplastic fluids.
