Synthesis of organofunctional silanes over heterogeneous systems
1-Octene, 1-hexadecene or allyl glycidyl ether were hydrosilylated with triethoxysilane over 1% Pt catalysts supported on a styrene-divinylbenzene copolymer or on a fluorinated (10-65% F) or activated carbon. Catalysts were highly active (yields up to 93%) and selective (90-100% to required products) regardless of the texture and sp. surface (2001000 m(2)/g) This heterogeneous catalysis thus offers a promising alternative to homogeneous catalysis using transition metal complexes. 40 refs.
