A review of poly[(3,3,3-trifluoropropyl)methylsiloxane]: Synthesis, properties and applications
2022, European Polymer JournalCitation Excerpt :The application of organosilicon polymer membranes for removing solvents was first reported in the form of patents in 1970s [113]. In the early stage, the composite membranes usually were prepared by PDMS to apply in separation fields [114–116]. However, in further research stage, it was found that the application in the separation of organic compounds was limited by the poor chemical resistance of the composite membranes prepared by PDMS [117].
Desulfurization of FCC gasoline by using spiral wound pervaporation module: Removal of different types of sulfur containing species
2018, Chemical Engineering Research and DesignCitation Excerpt :Enrichment factor depends upon the feed system, membrane material and its characteristics, and various operating conditions (Lin et al., 2009). In most of the literature, enrichment factor varies from 1 to 4 for sulphur removal from FCC gasoline with different types of membrane and operating conditions (Lin et al., 2009; Qi et al., 2006; Wang et al., 2006; Lin et al., 2006a, 2006b; Qi et al., 2007; Lin et al., 2008; Kong et al., 2008; Changwei et al., 2009; Qu et al., 2010; Yang et al., 2012a; Zhang et al., 2011; Sha et al., 2012; Lin et al., 2012; Yang et al., 2012b; Yang et al., 2012c; Liu et al., 2014; Konietzny et al., 2014; Yang et al., 2014; Amaral et al., 2014; Jin Yang et al., 2013; Yu et al., 2015; Yang et al., 2015; Zhao et al., 2008; Chen et al., 2008; Jain et al., 2015, 2016, 2017). Similarly value of stage cut varies from 2 to 7.5 in different experiments (Table 1).
Pervaporative desulfurization of gasoline: A review
2016, Chemical Engineering and Processing: Process IntensificationCitation Excerpt :As expected, they observed that the membrane exhibited increased permeation flux but decreased enrichment factor when the operating temperature increased. Zhao and co-workers reported the separation of sulfur/gasoline mixture using PDMS/PEI composite membranes by pervaporation [90]. The effect of temperature on pervaporation performance with PDMS/PEI composite membranes was studied at different temperatures, ranging from 30 to 80 °C.
A method to obtain gas-PDMS membrane interaction parameters for UNIQUAC model
2013, Chinese Journal of Chemical EngineeringPervaporative separation of bioethanol using a polydimethylsiloxane/polyetherimide composite hollow-fiber membrane
2012, Bioresource TechnologyCitation Excerpt :In the present study, a composite hollow-fiber membrane consisting of PDMS as a thin active layer on the PEI support and having a relatively large membrane area was used for the pervaporative separation of bioethanol. Few pervaporation studies using sheet-type composite membranes have been reported (Galindo et al., 2001; Zhao et al., 2008, 2009). Table 1 shows the composite PDMS/PEI membranes for pervaporation.
