ow to Use PID Controller Tuning Applet

A. Response: Process output(red) and input(blue) are plotted for open-loop operation such as step response test and relay feedback test. The process identification is performed automatically depending on the test method you run.
B. Freeze Button: It can be toggled by clicking the thumbtack figure. If a plot is frozen, next plots will be imposed on the previous plot. The y-axis will not be rescaled. If it is released, the last plot will be redrawn.
C. Run Panel: Select one of the open-loop tests or closed-loop runs by clicking the words. Then click run button.
Run with present condition : Start simulation at the current condition
Run Button : At the slow speed of simulation, the button will be changed to 'PAUSE' and you can stop and restart the simulation.
D. Selection of Simulation Speed: You can changed the simulation speed when you want to see the response as it progresses. Two tests are performed instant speed.
Speed: Instant, Fast, Normal, Slow, Very slow

ow to Use PID Controller Tuning Applet

A. Tuning Parameter Input Field:
B. PID Controller Panel: You can change the PID controller parameters.

  1. Increase the value by predetermined increment
  2. Click and enter value at the Tuning Parameter Input field in A
  3. Decrease the value by predetermined decrement
  4. Toggle between Reverse acting and Direct acting
  5. PID Controller features
  6. Toggle AUTO/MANUAL mode of controller
  7. You can change the value by dragging the triangle depending on the controller mode
